Konductro.

Your First Technical Analysis

This page takes you from nothing installed to a technical analysis submitted to Konductro and waiting for review. It uses one AI coding tool: Claude Code, Amazon Q (Kiro CLI), OpenAI Codex or Cursor. Pick the one you already use.

Before you start

  • An assigned analysis. An SDM requests it on the phase's Technical Analysis stage and assigns it to you. Until then there is nothing for the plugin to pick up.
  • Node.js 18 or later, and one of the four AI coding tools installed.
  • The code, on your machine. Clone the repositories the phase is about into one folder. The analysis reads the files there; Konductro never sees the code.

Steps

1

Install the plugin and connect it

Follow Installation for your AI coding tool: install the plugin, generate a CLI token from your profile, and run the setup command with that token.

Finish with the check on that page. Open your AI coding tool and ask:

What's on my Konductro list?

When the AI answers with your tickets, or says you have none, the plugin is connected. Come back here.

2

Open the code

Open your AI coding tool in the folder that holds the repositories for the phase. The analysis explores whatever is in that folder, so open it there rather than in your home folder.

3

Start the analysis

In Claude Code, run:

/technical-analysis

In Amazon Q (Kiro CLI), OpenAI Codex or Cursor, ask in plain language:

Start my Konductro technical analysis

The AI lists the analyses assigned to you and asks which one to work on. Pick it. The plugin loads the approved requirements, the project's details and its repositories, and the AI summarises the requirements back to you before it starts.

4

Work through it with the AI

The AI explores the code against the requirements and asks you questions along the way. Answer them: you know things about the codebase that the files do not say.

If your workspace or project has a Technical Analysis template, the document follows its sections, in its order. Otherwise it uses Konductro's default structure. See Technical analysis and document templates.

5

Review and submit

The AI shows you the finished document and asks you to review it. Ask for changes until you are happy with it, then tell it to submit.

The plugin sends the document to Konductro, with a summary of the conversation: what was found, what was decided and what concerns came up.

6

Find it in Konductro

Open the project, then the phase. The document is on the phase's Technical Analysis stage, and on the project's Documents page. From there it is reviewed and approved like any other planning document, and the phase moves on to architecture.

If something goes wrong

What you seeWhat to do
The AI says no analyses are assigned to youAsk the SDM to check the analysis is assigned to you on the phase's Technical Analysis stage.
The analysis is refused with an upgrade messageThe project uses a document template and your plugin is too old to follow it. Install the latest version and re-run setup, as under Updating on the Installation page.
The AI does not seem to know about KonductroRun setup again, then restart your AI coding tool. Cursor also needs Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+P → Developer: Reload Window, and OpenAI Codex needs the plugin added in the Codex app (see Installation).
The analysis talks about the wrong codeYour AI coding tool is open in the wrong folder. Close it, open it in the folder with the phase's repositories, and start again.
